Kerigami: Kids Chore Chart is a product of Kerigami LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information of our users. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Information We Collect

When you use Kerigami, we may collect the following information:

• Email address — used for account authentication and service communications.
• Family name — displayed within the app for personalization.
• Admin PIN — stored in hashed form for parental controls access.
• Child names — entered by the parent, used for display within the app only.
• Quest/chore titles and settings — parent-created content to operate the chore system.
• Reward titles and XP costs — parent-created content for the reward system.
• XP balances and history — gameplay data tracking quest completions and earnings.
• Photo proof images — optionally uploaded by children as quest completion evidence. Stored in a private, encrypted storage bucket accessible only to the parent account holder. Photos are deleted when the parent approves or rejects the submission.
• Custom icons (Pro) — images that Pro subscribers optionally upload to use as custom quest or reward icons. Stored in our cloud provider (Supabase) and accessible only within the uploading parent's family account and connected child devices. You can delete any uploaded icon at any time from the icon picker. Uploaded images are automatically screened by a third-party moderation service (OpenAI) before being stored to prevent unsafe content. Do not upload photos of identifiable people (including children) — custom icons are intended for symbolic/illustrative imagery only.
• Push notification tokens — optionally collected to deliver push notifications (see below).
• Subscription status — billing state used to manage Pro feature access.
• Device type and platform — collected via analytics for app improvement.

We do not collect precise geolocation, contacts, or biometric data.

How We Use Your Data

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide and operate Kerigami and its features.
• Authenticate your account and keep your family data secure.
• Improve app performance, stability, and user experience.
• Communicate important service updates or respond to support requests.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

Kerigami LLC does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Your family's information is yours.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. We use Supabase as our backend provider, which employs row-level security policies to ensure that each family can only access their own data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription billing and entitlements across platforms. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user ID but does not receive your email or personal details.
• Apple Sign In — if you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple provides us with a verified email address (or a private relay address if you choose "Hide My Email") and a unique user identifier. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
• Google Analytics 4 — Google Analytics is disabled in the iOS and Android app versions. On the web version, anonymized usage data is collected to improve the service. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.
• OpenAI — if you upload a custom icon, the image is sent to OpenAI's content moderation service solely to screen for inappropriate content before we accept and store it. OpenAI does not receive your email or any personal details, and per OpenAI's policy, content submitted to the moderation API is not used to train their models. Images that fail moderation are not stored on our servers.

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

App Store & Google Play Billing

If you purchase a Kerigami Pro subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, your in-app purchase is processed by Apple or Google respectively. We do not have access to your full payment details for these transactions. These purchases are subject to the privacy policies of Apple and Google respectively.

Push Notifications

If you opt in to push notifications, we store a device-specific push notification token to deliver notifications to your device. You can revoke this at any time by disabling notifications in your device settings or within the app. When notifications are disabled, your push token is removed from our servers.

Cross-Platform Data Access

Your Kerigami account data is accessible across iOS, Android, and web platforms using the same login credentials. All platforms connect to the same secure backend, ensuring your family data stays in sync regardless of which device you use.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your account and associated family data at any time.
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Withdraw consent and close your account.

You can delete your account directly within the app through your account settings. You may also request account deletion by emailing support@kerigami.com. Upon receiving a deletion request, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By using Kerigami, you agree to the following terms. Kerigami is provided by Kerigami LLC.

Subscriptions & Pricing

Kerigami Pro is an optional subscription at $7.99/month (or $39.99/year) that unlocks premium features including additional themes, Star Jackpot configuration, Kids Friday Reward, and more.

On iOS and Android, subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store respectively. On the web, subscriptions may be billed through Stripe. Pricing may vary by region and is displayed at the time of purchase.

Free Trial

New users may receive a free trial of Kerigami Pro. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically renew at the standard rate. You can cancel at any time through your device's subscription settings.

Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle. For App Store or Google Play purchases, refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google respectively.

Referral Rewards

Free Pro months earned through referrals are applied automatically and do not require a payment method. They expire at the end of the granted period.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Kerigami only for its intended purpose — managing family chores, quests, and rewards. You may not attempt to access other users' data, reverse-engineer the app, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

User-Uploaded Content (Custom Icons)

Pro subscribers may optionally upload custom images to use as quest or reward icons. You are solely responsible for the content you upload. By uploading an image, you represent that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it does not contain:

• Sexually explicit, pornographic, or suggestive material.
• Violent, gore, self-harm, or harassing imagery.
• Content that depicts, sexualizes, or endangers minors.
• Hate speech, slurs, or imagery targeting protected groups.
• Illegal content, malware, or content that infringes copyright or trademark.
• Personally identifying photos of children other than your own family's.

All uploads are automatically screened for safety by a third-party moderation service before being stored. We also reserve the right to review, remove, or disable access to any user-uploaded content at our discretion, and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy. If you encounter content you believe violates these Terms or should be reviewed, please report it to support@kerigami.com.

Intellectual Property

All content, design, graphics, and software associated with Kerigami are the property of Kerigami LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without our written consent.

Limitation of Liability

Kerigami is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Kerigami LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Modifications

Kerigami LLC reserves the right to modify pricing, features, or these terms with reasonable notice to users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Kerigami is listed in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store under the Kids category (ages 6–8) and is designed for family use. The app is operated by a parent or guardian; children interact with a restricted dashboard that does not allow account changes, purchases, or access to external services.

Child profiles are created and managed exclusively by an authenticated parent or guardian. Children do not create their own accounts or provide personal information during setup.

A parent may optionally connect a child's device using a time-limited invite code. Connected devices allow children to view their quests, mark tasks as complete, and submit photo proof — but children cannot modify account settings, access other family members' data, or make purchases. The parent retains full control and can disconnect a child's device at any time.

All account creation, data entry, and management is performed by an authenticated adult. Child data (names, quest progress, XP balances) is entered and controlled entirely by the parent account holder within their secure account.

Photo Proof (optional): If a parent enables photo verification for a child, the parent is shown a consent notice explaining how photos are used before the feature is activated. Children may then upload images of completed tasks. These images are stored in a private, encrypted storage bucket accessible only to the parent. Photos are permanently deleted once the parent approves or rejects the submission. No photos are shared with third parties.

Purchases require a parental gate: In-app subscription purchases require entry of the parent's admin PIN before the purchase flow opens, preventing children from initiating transactions.

No behavioral advertising or analytics targeting: Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics data collection are disabled. RevenueCat A/B experiments and user-targeting features are not used. No advertising SDKs are included in the app.

In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 16 C.F.R. § 312), we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us at support@kerigami.com and we will delete that information within 30 days.
